Heart dissection in Year 6

Lesson: Science

Class: H Year: 2018 - 2019

As part of our 'Circulatory System and Exercise' science topic, Ms. Crehan (from Hope Academy) generously visited to help us dissect a lamb's heart. She showed us each of the atria and ventricles and explained to us how blood travels through the heart. Can your child describe the journey that blood takes around your body? Can they identify which of the four chambers in the heart are atria and which are ventricles? What does the phrase 'Rugby League' have to do with identifying features of the heart?
