Evacuee Immersive Experience in Tatton Hall

Lesson: History

Class: Year 6 Year: 2023 - 2024

On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Year 6 took part in an immersive experience at Tatton Hall as evacuees.

We met some of the people who lived at the hall during the 1940s, and joined them in their daily activities.

We learnt how to differentiate RAF aeroplanes from Luftwaffe aeroplanes, how to march like the Home Guard, how to properly ration food and clothing, how to wash our clothes in dolly tubs, how to make 'rag rugs' ensuring no wasted fabric, and even experienced an air raid.

It was a very informative day, and a fantastic way to consolidate what we learnt in class.
